LIQUID MEDIUM TRANSPORT SWAB
Medical Devices consisting of a swab (available in different materials and formats) and a test tube containing liquid transport medium. The devices are suitable for the collection and transport of aerobic, anaerobic and fastidious bacteria. The viability of microorganisms is guaranteed for up to 48 hours at room or refrigerated temperature.
This particular range of devices is based on a liquid transport medium, ready-to-use, suitable for bacterial cultures, rapid and multiple tests, Gram stains, automations and molecular tests.
The kit is designed to make these swabs easy-to-use and reliable. The applicators have a breakpoint that allow, after the biological sample collection, the insertion into the test tube and captured by a particular leak-proof screw cap.
The Devices are produced in accordance to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), certified as sterile Class IIa Medical Devices, non-pyrogenic, non-cytotoxic and, on request, certified according to the CLSI standard M40-A2 (Quality Control of Microbiological Transport Systems, 2nd Edition).
The Devices are packaged in plastic peel-packs that preserve their sterility (SAL 10-6).

AMIES
Swabs with 1 mL of liquid Amies transport medium, suitable for the collection and transport of aerobic, anaerobic and fastidious bacteria up to 48 hours at room or refrigerated temperature (up to 24 hours for Neisseria gonorrhoeae). They can also be used with mycobacteria and fungii.
Test tubes are provided with a pink screw cap and pre-labeled for a correct identification of the sample.
STUART
Swabs with 1 mL of liquid Stuart transport medium, suitable for the collection and transport of bacteria such as Trichomonas vaginalis, Haemophilus influenzae, Streptococcus pyogenes, Corynebacterium diphtheriae, enterobacteria and upper respiratory tract bacteria.
Test tubes are provided with blue screw cap and pre-labeled for a correct identification of the sample.
CARY BLAIR
Swabs with 2 mL of Cary Blair liquid transport medium, suitable for the collection and transport of bacteria such as Salmonella, Shigella, Vibrio and Campylobacter. Test tubes are provided with green screw cap and pre-labeled for a correct identification of the sample.
SELENITE
Swabs with 2 mL of Selenite transport medium, selective for Salmonella and Shigella.
Test tubes are provided with a white screw cap and pre-labeled for correct identification of the sample.
SALINE
Swabs with 2 mL of phosphate buffered saline solution, used to dilute biological samples for clinical analysis.
Test tubes are provided with a blue screw cap and pre-labeled for a correct identification of the sample.
